About Our Stay

This was a destination weekend for us. The place was good, with plenty of activities for the kids. We loved the candy bingo. Maddie made her own Tie Die, and the kids really enjoyed getting soaked on the water train. The place itself is a bit old and run down. The water area and lazy river are something out of the 80's and Action Park, and rough on the skin. The pool is small with little deck space, and not big enough for higher occupancies. We had to trade our golf cart as the first one broke down. The second one was not far behind. Overall, the kids had a great stay and we enjoyed it, but we would not run to return.

What We Liked

  • Friendly and helpful campground team
  • Spacious campsites
  • Convenient location near I-10
  • Candy Bar Bingo was a fun family activity
  • The Water Train was a huge hit with the kids
  • Parents getting to use water balloons and squirt guns on the Water Train made it even better

What We'd Change / Things to Know

  • The pool felt much too small for the number of guests using it.
  • There wasn't enough room around the pool area when it was busy.
  • The lazy river wasn't what we expected — it felt more like a narrow concrete channel
  • The main water amenities felt cramped, which was the biggest downside of our stay.

Campsite & Hookups

We had a spacious site with water, sewer, and 30-amp electric hookups. The campground was also convenient to I-10, making it an easy weekend destination and travel stop.

Family & Kid Notes

  • Candy Bar Bingo was a hit with the family.
  • The kids loved riding the Water Train.
  • The Water Train was especially fun because the adults could spray the kids with squirt guns and throw water balloons as they passed.
  • And apparently it was also a good place for Shianne to find a weekend crush — which has provided the family with material ever since.

Would We Stay Again?

No

We had a fun weekend and thought the staff and activities were great, but the crowded pool area and underwhelming lazy river were dealbreakers for us. There are other campgrounds that better fit what we're looking for in a family weekend getaway.
