About Our Stay

This is a top three for our family, and we have visited three times now. Being able to back up to the river and throw a tube in is special. This place is tucked in the gorge, and a great getaway. The river access is prime, and makes it worth the premium. Sites are tight, but this is a campground, not a resort. Set your expectations. There will be Rv buddies and tent buddies. We all co exist. Plenty of kids and a playground for them to use. During our last visit, we took a trip to Helen. This is worthwhile if you have nothing else to do. A bit of a tourist trap for us, but good German food!

What We Liked

  • Access to the water cannot be beat
  • Right off the main road, but far enough away to disconnect

What We'd Change / Things to Know

  • Tight sites. It can also get loud.

Campsite & Hookups

Back in right up to the river wall. Tight, but level. Our site was bigger than others and allowed some space. Most patios are in the back overlooking the river, so not a huge deal.

Things to Do Nearby

  • We took a drive into Helen to check out the town
