Powering Our RV Beyond the Hookups

Our Pecron off-grid power setup — real equipment, real RV testing, and a little more freedom to camp where we want.

Why we bought it

We have a 2024 Jayco Alante 29F Class A with two air conditioners (both with soft starts) on a 30-amp shore-power connection. We wanted more flexibility to camp without electrical hookups — specifically, the ability to run air conditioning for shorter off-grid periods without running the generator constantly.

We connected the Pecron F3000LFP to our RV's 30-amp shore-power system and successfully ran both air conditioners under suitable conditions. We've also added the compatible 200W folding solar panel to supplement charging. Actual runtime depends on battery capacity, electrical load, temperature, and conditions — we're still gathering real-world data, but we're genuinely impressed with what we've tested so far.

1Power Station

PECRON F3000LFP

3,072Wh LiFePO4 · 3,600W output

Expandable to 10,752Wh with compatible expansion batteries. The core of our off-grid setup — connects to our RV's 30-amp shore-power inlet.

2Expansion Battery

PECRON EP3800-48V

3,840Wh additional capacity

Compatible with the F3000LFP. Adds nearly 4kWh of storage — meaningful extra runtime when you're parked without hookups and want to stretch your off-grid window.

3Solar Panel

PECRON 200W Folding Solar Panel

200W · IP67 waterproof · foldable

Supplements charging when parked in sun. Useful for topping off the battery between uses — solar alone won't run air conditioning, but it meaningfully extends your off-grid window over time.

Liquified Tank Treatment

We'd Buy It Again

Breaks down waste and keeps your tanks clean!

Why we carry it

Nobody likes dealing with RV black tank odors or maintenance. Liquified makes one of the less glamorous parts of RV life a little easier. It's simple to add to the tank, doesn't take up much storage space, and has earned a permanent spot in our RV supplies.

RV SnapPads

We'd Buy It Again

The very first accessory we bought for the RV — the day we purchased it.

Why we carry it

These were the very first accessory we bought for the RV — the day we purchased it. If you know your jack size ahead of time, you can save money buying them before you need them. We wanted them installed right away so we didn't have to worry about campground rules, damaging/bending the feet, and they give us more stability.
