Why we recommend it
We took the lift up as a family and really enjoyed getting away from the crowds of downtown Gatlinburg and seeing the Smokies from above. The mountain views are beautiful, but the mountain coaster was definitely one of the highlights for us. It’s a fun combination because you can slow down and enjoy the scenery for a while and then add a little adrenaline to the day. If you’re visiting Gatlinburg with kids and want something that gives you both the mountain experience and an attraction, Anakeesta is an easy recommendation from us.

Anakeesta is a mountaintop adventure park above downtown Gatlinburg offering scenic rides up the mountain, panoramic Smoky Mountain views, walking areas, dining, shopping, and a variety of outdoor attractions. It’s a good mix of sightseeing and family adventure, with enough to do at the top to make it more than just a ride up the mountain.
