Backcountry Boat Rentals

Sugarloaf Key, Florida

"An affordable Florida Keys boat rental that gave our whole group one of our favorite days on the water."

Why we recommend it

This ended up being one of the best values of our Keys trip. We were traveling with another local family, so there were nine of us altogether — four adults, four kids and a teenager — and we paid around $400 for a half-day rental. We found a beautiful calm spot, anchored up and basically let the kids wear themselves out going down the two slides into that incredible Keys water. The adults had just as much fun, and on the way back we even got to watch skydivers coming down overhead. Backcountry was great to deal with, the boat was affordable for a group our size, and we'd absolutely rent from them again.

About this place

Backcountry Boat Rentals offers pontoon boat rentals for exploring the waters of the Florida Keys. We rented a double-slide pontoon for a half day and took it out to a calm, crystal-clear area where we could anchor, swim and let the kids spend hours on the slides. Our boat had plenty of room for our group of four adults, four kids and a teenager, making it a great option for families or groups who want their own day on the water.
